Overview of the Competition Process

After the deadline, submitted applications move through the following stages of the evaluation process:

  • Initial Review:  Draper Data Science Business Plan Competition Steering Committee reviews all application forms submitted by competing teams.  They also vet students' eligibility status as it pertains to being currently enrolled or recent college graduate(s) as of December 31, 2022.
  • Invitation to Live Competition:  Following the receipt and review of additional documents, selected teams will be invited to compete on-site at the UTSA School of Data Science on April 21, 2023.

The announcements of ventures invited to compete in the 2023 Draper Data Science Business Plan Competition will be made in February 2023 via video on our social media channels and on the SDS website.  All invited ventures will be notified by email and more details will be provided at that time.
