School of Data Science names 17 students to its inaugural Undergraduate Research Fellowship, advancing hands-on research in data-driven fields.

undergrad-fellows-2025.jpgThe UTSA School of Data Science has named 17 students as the first cohort of its SDS Undergraduate Research Fellowship, a competitive, semester-long program providing hands-on research experience, mentorship, and professional development opportunities.

The fellowship, part of a broader collaboration between the School of Data Science and H-E-B, supports undergraduate research in data-driven fields. Selected students—representing the Alvarez College of Business (ACOB), College of Sciences (COS), and Klesse College of Engineering and Integrated Design (KCEID)—will work alongside UTSA faculty mentors on projects that enhance their academic and career trajectories.

Each fellow will receive a $3,000 stipend and gain real-world experience in data science, computing and analytics through faculty-mentored research.
