Eight student teams from across North America have been selected to compete in the 2025 Draper Data Science Business Plan Competition, set for Friday, April 18, 2025, at UTSA’s School of Data Science.
Representing Canada, Mexico, and the United States, this year’s finalists highlight the growing international reach of the Draper Competition, which challenges students to develop innovative business ideas driven by data science.

In its third year, the Draper Competition is supported by a $1 million gift from renowned venture capitalist Timothy Draper and his wife, Melissa Parker Draper. The event offers up to $100,000 in cash prizes to student entrepreneurs using data science to tackle real-world challenges.
Finalists will pitch their startups before a panel of judges, with winners announced after the competition.
