Eight teams. Three countries. One competition. Student entrepreneurs from Canada, Mexico, and the United States are set to face off in the Draper Competition.

Eight student teams from across North America have been selected to compete in the 2025 Draper Data Science Business Plan Competitionset for Friday, April 18, 2025, at UTSA’s School of Data Science.

Representing Canada, Mexico, and the United States, this year’s finalists highlight the growing international reach of the Draper Competition, which challenges students to develop innovative business ideas driven by data science.

The selected teams are:

  • AdaptEase, Toronto Metropolitan University (Canada)
  • CLINIKIA, Universidad Panamericana – Aguascalientes (Mexico)
  • CrossJobs, Toronto Metropolitan University (Canada)
  • MedIQ LLC, Rice University (USA)
  • Neural Precision Solutions, Angelo State University (USA)
  • Perflection AI, Carnegie Mellon University (USA)
  • SMAI, UTSA and UT Health San Antonio (USA)
  • SURV AI, UTSA (USA)

In its third year, the Draper Competition is supported by a $1 million gift from renowned venture capitalist Timothy Draper and his wife, Melissa Parker Draper. The event offers up to $100,000 in cash prizes to student entrepreneurs using data science to tackle real-world challenges.

Finalists will pitch their startups before a panel of judges, with winners announced after the competition.
