Summer Undergraduate Program
The Data Science & AI Community Innovation Scholars program, supported by a generous gift from H-E-B, is a collaborative initiative by the UTSA School of Data Science and United Way of San Antonio and Bexar County. Designed to empower undergraduate students from all disciplines, this program enhances academic success and career readiness while contributing to the impact of local nonprofits through data science and AI methods.
The 10-week, paid internship pairs scholars with local nonprofits to provide data-driven insights that support each organization's mission. Projects range from demographic analysis to program evaluations, allowing students to gain invaluable industry experience and refine their data science skills with guidance from UTSA faculty advisors.
Open to all students, the program emphasizes meaningful community engagement and equips participants with practical skills for future careers. Through this initiative, H-E-B proudly supports San Antonio's next generation of data-driven leaders dedicated to making a positive impact.
